Bio Pacita has been known as a social entrepreneur since 1999, when she first started working in coffee and later embraced environment and sustainability issues. She currently runs a social enterprise called the ECHOstore sustainable lifestyle, the first specialty store of its kind in the Philippines. ECHO stands for Environment, Community, Hope and Organization, and the store sources all of their merchandise from underserved communities in the Philippines while promoting environmentally friendly and up-cycled artisanal crafts. ECHOstore works with international aid agencies, nonprofits, and government agencies to create market access for their entrepreneurs, which is one of the biggest roadblocks to building sustainable enterprises. They also share their expertise in design to improve the products they sell. Ms. Juan also heads the Philippine Coffee Board Inc. and the Women's Business Council of the Philippines.
